Chiyoko Szlavnic's moiré-drawings reminded me of certain structures in my own work which I had not thought of for some time (for example, Quadratstudie 1995). Similarly to 'Quadratstudie', the performers of 'Moiréstudie' are divided into two equal groups of instruments or voices which perform the same sustained, diatonic cluster at two different speeds of a very slow, ascending glissando (over the course of 21 minutes).
