Die Stücke sind Erkundungen der Inkommensurabilität von Sprache und Klang. Zu hören sind unspektakuläre Field-Recordings, die untertitelt werden, sodass Klang und Beschreibung - im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes - nebeneinander herlaufen. In anderen Worten: Klang und Worte verdoppeln einander und erzeugen jene Tautologie, die unser Verhältnis zur Welt ist.
The pieces are explorations of the incommensurability of language and sound. One can hear unspectacular field recordings that are subtitled so that sound and description (appear to) run side by side. In other words, sound and words are creating a doubling ("Verdopplung") - that kind of tautology which is our relationship with the world.Verdopplung 5. Sokrates hat die Welt verdoppelt in Schein und Sein. Läßt sich das rückgängig machen? Durch Klang vielleicht gar? - Die Kluft, die sich auftut zwischen Klang und Beschreibung in "Verdopplung 4": das ist der Ort der Rückgängigmachung.
